Kingdom Project:
Step 1: View the picture above. Outlined are the two types of organisms (Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic) based on if the organism has oragnelles (tiny organs like the nucleus) in their cells. If they don't, the organism is prokaryotic. If they do, the organism is eukaryotic. There are different cells that can be found in prokaryotic or eukaryotic organisms. ALL prokaryotic organisms (eubacteria or archaea bacteria) have bacteria cells. Each eukaryotic organism either contains protist, fungi, plant, or animal cells depending on the organism. For instance, all animals contain animal cells, which are eukaryotic (have organelles). Organisms are therefore classified into their kingdom taxonomy level based on the type of cell it has. All archaea are classified in the archaea kingdom. All Eubacteria are classified in the Eubacteria Kingdom. Using this information, fill in the performance task. I did the first organism for you to get your started. You may have to do online research to answer some of them.
Step 2: View this document (Click Here) to help you answer the questions below for each type of organism/kingdom. For any question that is NOT in the document, research online for the answer.
